Late-Stage Oncology Pipeline
Moleculin Biotech is a clinical-stage company developing treatments for difficult-to-treat cancers and viral diseases. Its portfolio centers on Annamycin in acute myeloid leukemia, supported by earlier-stage programs targeting oncogenic transcription and tumor metabolism.
Annamycin
Annamycin is a next-generation anthracycline designed to avoid multidrug-resistance mechanisms and reduce the cardiotoxicity associated with conventional anthracyclines. The candidate is being developed in relapsed or refractory AML and has also been studied in soft-tissue sarcoma metastatic to the lungs.
MIRACLE Program
MIRACLE is an adaptive pivotal Phase 2/3 study evaluating Annamycin with cytarabine, a regimen referred to as AnnAraC, in second-line relapsed or refractory AML. Part A is designed to enroll approximately 90 patients and identify the dose and regimen to carry into the confirmatory portion of the study.
Additional Development Programs
The pipeline also includes WP1066, a modulator of p-STAT3 and other oncogenic transcription factors under evaluation in brain and pancreatic cancers, and WP1122, a metabolic antitumor and antiviral platform. These programs provide development opportunities beyond Annamycin and hematologic malignancies.
