PP2A Inhibition in Cancer
LIXTE Biotechnology develops cancer therapies based on inhibition of protein phosphatase 2A. Its lead molecule is intended to sensitize tumors to chemotherapy and immunotherapy rather than function solely as a stand-alone cytotoxic drug.
LB-100
LB-100 is a first-in-class clinical PP2A inhibitor that has shown tolerability at biologically active doses. Proof-of-concept studies are evaluating combinations in ovarian clear-cell carcinoma, metastatic colorectal cancer and advanced soft-tissue sarcoma.
Proton-Therapy Technology
Through Liora Technologies Europe, LIXTE is also developing the LiGHT System, an electronically controlled proton-therapy platform. This med-tech program broadens the company beyond drug development into precision radiation treatment.
